Cian Byrne

Cian Byrne is a defender who grew up in The Liberties in Dublin and worked his way through the underage system at Lourdes Celtic and St Kevin's Boys before joining the Bohemians academy in August 2018. He made his senior debut for the club in an FAI Cup tie against Finn Harps in July 2022 and signed his first professional contract that December.

He spent the 2023 season at Longford Town, making 20 appearances before returning to Bohemians, and went out again in February 2025 to Galway United, where he made 18 appearances and scored twice. One of those goals came in a 2–1 win over Sligo Rovers in April 2025, when he struck a volley and a free-kick in the same game. Bohemians recalled him at the end of June 2025, and he signed a new two-year contract with the club in November 2025.

Byrne played the full 90 minutes as Bohemians beat Usher Celtic 5–0 to win the Leinster Senior Cup in September 2023, and he captained the club's Under-19 side to victory in the Enda McGuill Cup in 2022. He was also on the losing side in the FAI Cup final that year, playing all 90 minutes as Bohemians went down 3–1 to St Patrick's Athletic.
