Danijel Šturm

Danijel Šturm spent the first years of his senior career well outside the Slovenian top flight, scoring at a striking rate for NK Tolmin before a move to Swiss football with FC Chiasso in 2018. That switch produced no real foothold — he was loaned out almost immediately, first to FC Mendrisio-Stabio and then back to Tolmin, where he scored 12 goals in 12 appearances. A return to Slovenia followed at ND Bilje, where he kept up the habit of scoring regularly.

The move to NK Maribor in 2021 changed his role rather than his output: across 28 appearances he managed a single goal, a marked contrast to the numbers he had posted lower down the pyramid. A loan to NK Aluminij in 2023 brought no goals in 12 games, and it was only at NK Domžale, later that year, that Šturm rediscovered his scoring touch at the top level. Over two seasons there he scored 19 goals in 65 appearances, and in the 2024/25 campaign he finished third in the PrvaLiga scoring charts with 13 goals, a return that made him, by one measure, the most productive Slovenian player in the league that season.

That form earned him a free transfer to NK Celje in June 2025. His first international goal came against Montenegro in a friendly that March.
