Dominik Szoboszlai

Dominik Szoboszlai went from Fehérvár, through Főnix Gold and MTK Budapest, into the Red Bull system, first with the reserve side FC Liefering and then, from January 2018, the senior Red Bull Salzburg squad, where he made his debut that May. He stayed until 2021, collecting four Austrian Bundesliga titles, three Austrian Cups and a Super Cup, and was voted the league's Player of the Season for 2019–20. In January 2021 he moved to RB Leipzig, where he won the DFB-Pokal in successive seasons and, in 2022, both the Hungarian Golden Ball and Hungarian Footballer of the Year award.

Liverpool signed him from Leipzig on 2 July 2023 after meeting his release clause. He has since won the Carabao Cup and, in 2024–25, the Premier League, starting 36 of Liverpool's 38 league matches that season and becoming the first Hungarian player to win the English top flight.

For Hungary, Szoboszlai scored the winning goal in the play-off against Iceland that took the country to Euro 2020, though injury kept him out of the finals squad. He captained Hungary at Euro 2024 and has scored in the Nations League, including a penalty against England. He has been named Hungary's Golden Ball winner in five separate years, most recently in 2025.
