About the player
Twenty-four goals in a single First League season put Vorobyov second in the scoring charts and earned him the award for the division's best discovery of 2020/21. He had joined Orenburg late in 2020, scoring 29 goals in 64 appearances across the First League and the Russian Premier League.
The route there was long. Krasnodar handed him his senior debut in August 2016, in a Europa League play-off against Partizani. First-team football did not follow. A loan to Afips brought two goals in 12 games, and a move to the Czech club Hradec Králové yielded three appearances.
A loan spell at Sochi in 2021/22 gave him ten Premier League appearances and no goals. Lokomotiv Moscow paid a reported €2.5 million for him in June 2024, and over two seasons he scored 22 goals in 56 league matches — 25 in 73 competitive games in all, with 11 assists — and took a bronze medal in 2025/26.
Russia gave him his first cap on 5 September 2024, as a substitute in a 3-0 friendly win over Vietnam. His goal came a year later, against Iran on 10 October 2025. In July 2026 he went back to Krasnodar, on a contract running to June 2030.
