Danil Stepanov

Danil Stepanov came through the youth academy at Rubin Kazan and made his professional debut there in December 2018. Rather than settling in at once, he was sent out on loan to Rotor Volgograd for the 2020–21 season, and it was there, in the Russian Premier League, that he scored his first goal as a professional.

Arsenal Tula took him on loan in May 2021 and made the move permanent that December for a reported fee of 400,000 euros. He stayed in Tula until July 2023, when he transferred to Khimki. His spell there produced the clearest highlight of his career: Khimki won the Russian First League title in the 2023–24 season, and Stepanov contributed two goals to that campaign.

His contract at Khimki ran out in the summer of 2025, and he joined Torpedo Moscow as a free agent that August. The following year brought a rapid change of clubs: a brief stint with Shakhtyor Donetsk in April 2026 preceded his move to Volga Ulyanovsk in June 2026, where he now wears the number 5 shirt.

Stepanov's representative honours have so far stopped short of the senior Russia side. He has not been called into the full national team. By the middle of 2026 he had made more than 130 appearances across Russia's professional league system.
