David Seger

David Seger's route to professional football ran through Sweden's lower divisions before it reached the top flight. He started out with IFK Osby in Division 4, then moved up through BKV Norrtälje and IFK Stocksund before a breakthrough season at Sollentuna FK, where he shared the top scorer's crown in Division 2 Norra Svealand with nine goals in 27 matches. That form earned him a move to Örebro SK in January 2020.

Seger made his Allsvenskan debut for Örebro against Djurgårdens IF in June 2020, and later that year was part of the squad that reached the final of the Svenska Cupen, where they lost to Malmö FF. He stayed at Örebro for four seasons before leaving as a free agent in January 2024 to join Östers IF in Superettan, where he scored eight goals across the following campaign.

In July 2025, Seger made his first move abroad, joining Bulgarian side CSKA Sofia in a transfer reported at between €400,000 and €536,000. His stay in Bulgaria lasted around seven months before he returned to Sweden on a free transfer in February 2026, signing for BK Häcken, where he now wears the number 19 shirt.

A right-footed midfielder, Seger has built his career on incremental steps up the football pyramid rather than a single defining move, with his transfer to CSKA Sofia standing out as the most notable fee of his career so far.
