About the player
Davy van den Berg's career carries the mark of a clean break: he came through the PSV Eindhoven academy from the age of eight, only for his contract to be terminated by mutual consent in late 2018 after a disagreement with coach Ruud van Nistelrooy. Rather than derail him, the move sent him to FC Utrecht's youth setup, where he worked his way through the reserve side, Jong FC Utrecht, over three seasons in the Eerste Divisie.
A loan at Roda JC Kerkrade in 2022 gave him regular first-team football, and a subsequent free transfer to PEC Zwolle turned into a productive spell of his career: 95 league appearances and 12 goals across three seasons. That form earned him a return to Utrecht in May 2025, this time on the senior side, with a contract running to the middle of 2028. He has made 15 league appearances for Luton so far.
Van den Berg has represented the Netherlands at various youth levels, from the U15s up to two caps for the U19s, and won the Dutch U19 Championship with PSV's youth side in 2018. At club level, he was part of the Luton Town squad that won the Football League Trophy in the 2025–26 season, making two appearances in that competition.
