About the player
After coming through 1. FC Nürnberg's youth system, he spent two seasons with the club's reserve side in the Regionalliga Bayern, scoring 16 goals in 66 appearances before a move to Hansa Rostock brought a quieter spell in the 3. Liga. It was at Energie Cottbus, in the Regionalliga Nordost, that he scored 19 goals in 34 appearances in 2021–22.
That form earned him a move to VfL Osnabrück, where he was central to the club's promotion to the 2. Bundesliga in 2022–23, scoring 11 goals in the 3. Liga that season and also winning the Niedersachsen regional cup with the club.
Engelhardt returned to Energie Cottbus in January 2025 on a free transfer. In the 2025–26 season he scored 22 goals in 38 3. Liga appearances, finishing as the division's second-top scorer and helping Cottbus win promotion to the 2. Bundesliga.
At youth international level, Engelhardt was capped by Germany at U16, U18 and U19, scoring once in two appearances for the U16 side.
