Fredy Hinestroza Arias

Fredy Hinestroza Arias broke through at Atlético Nacional, where in 2011 he won the Apertura title before his career took him abroad. Getafe and Zaragoza gave him two seasons of Spanish football on loan, a spell that took him far from the Colombian leagues where he had started out. Mexico followed, with brief stints at Santos Laguna and Veracruz, before he returned home.

The most productive years of his career came at Atlético Junior, where he spent four seasons and collected two Categoría Primera A titles, in 2019 and 2020, along with the Apertura crown in 2019. The club also won the 2023 Finalissima, closing out a spell that established him as a regular contributor in Colombian football's top flight.

Hinestroza's form at club level earned him a first call-up to the Colombia national team, for which he has made two appearances since his debut, on 16 January 2022 against Honduras, a match Colombia won 2–1.

He joined Atlético Bucaramanga in 2023, and lifted the Apertura title with the club in 2024, adding a further league honour to the run he built at Junior. Now in his mid-thirties, Hinestroza continues to operate on the wing for Bucaramanga, wearing the number 8 shirt.
