Filip Novák

Filip Novák's finest scoring feat came as a defender: in the 2014–15 season for FK Jablonec he scored 11 goals, a Czech First League record for a defender in a single campaign. He had arrived at Jablonec as a free agent from FC Zlín and grew into a key player there, contributing 14 goals in 106 matches overall. He also lifted the Czech Cup with the club, netting in the penalty shootout of the 2012–13 final against Mladá Boleslav, and added the Czech Supercup the following year.

He moved to Danish champions FC Midtjylland in 2015, where he won the Superliga title in 2017–18. A move to Trabzonspor followed in January 2018, where he scored 15 goals in 74 appearances and won the Turkish Cup in 2019–20. Fenerbahçe signed him on a free transfer in 2020, and he left the club in 2022.

Spells with Al Jazira in the UAE and a return to the Czech First League with Sigma Olomouc followed, the latter bringing two goals in 12 appearances. For the Czech Republic, Novák won 28 caps between 2015 and 2021, scoring against San Marino in World Cup qualifying and against Kuwait in a friendly. He also represented the under-21 side. In his hometown of Přerov, he was named Most Successful Sportsperson of the Year in 2013, the same year he was voted best player of the Indoor Fotbal Cup.
