About the player
Franz Roggow arrived at Hannover 96 on a free transfer in March 2025, agreeing a contract running until 30 June 2028 ahead of the 2025/26 season. He came through Borussia Dortmund II, where he spent two seasons in the 3. Liga and made 59 appearances, scoring six goals for the reserve side. Before that, his path ran through FC St. Pauli's youth system, which he joined in 2018 and where he later played for the reserve team, FC St. Pauli II. His footballing start came earlier still, at SV Jahn Bad Freienwalde and FV Preussen Eberswalde, before a move to Energie Cottbus took him into a more structured academy environment.
Roggow's competitive debut for Hannover 96 came in the DFB-Pokal on 22 August 2025, away, in emphatic circumstances: a 9–1 win over Energie Cottbus, the very club where he had spent part of his youth career. His debut in the 2. Bundesliga followed shortly after. Since then he has settled into a squad role at Hannover, making eleven appearances without yet finding the net.
A right-footed midfielder standing 186 centimetres tall, Roggow now wears the number 13 shirt at Hannover 96.
