Guilherme Peixoto

Guilherme Peixoto spent ten years in Benfica's youth system before leaving for FC Twente in July 2025 after his contract in Lisbon expired. He had joined the Benfica academy in 2015, training initially in Aveiro before moving to the club's Seixal campus in 2018, and progressed through the youth ranks to the Sub-23 side, playing in the UEFA Youth League along the way. He signed his first professional contract with Benfica in October 2022 and made a single appearance for Benfica B in the 2024/25 season, never reaching the club's senior team.

At Twente he signed a contract running to the middle of 2028, with an option for a further year. He made his first-team debut gradually: a KNVB Cup debut against Roda JC at the end of October 2025, an Eredivisie debut against AZ Alkmaar a month later, and a first appearance in European competition against DAC 1904 in the UEFA Conference League qualifiers the following August. By September 2026, with five official appearances for Twente's first team to his name, he was loaned to Roda JC in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie for the rest of the season to get more regular playing time.

Peixoto has represented Portugal across the youth age groups, from the U16 up to the U20, and started for the U19 side in a UEFA U19 Championship qualifier against England in March 2025, one of ten caps at that level. His honours so far belong to Benfica's youth teams: the national youth championship with the U19s in 2022/23 and the Taça Revelação with the Sub-23s in 2024/25.
