About the player
Hany Mukhtar came through Hertha BSC's academy and made his first-team debut for the club, before Benfica signed him in January 2015.
Nashville SC signed Mukhtar in August 2019, and it is in Tennessee that his career changed shape. The clearest single afternoon came against Chicago Fire on 17 July 2021, when he scored the fastest hat-trick in MLS history, three goals in sixteen minutes.
The 2022 season was his best. Mukhtar won the MLS Golden Boot as the league's top scorer with 23 goals and was named MLS Most Valuable Player . He followed that with selection to the MLS Best XI in three separate seasons and Player of the Month honours in August 2022 and May 2023, and has been picked for the MLS All-Star game in each of the last several seasons.
By August 2026, Mukhtar had a hand in 80 of the 144 goals Nashville SC had scored in its history, through goals and assists combined, a measure of how central he has been to the club since its arrival in MLS.
Mukhtar also represented Germany at under-21 level, making three appearances between 2016 and 2017.
