About the player
Tabaković was born and raised in Switzerland, coming through the academy at BSC Young Boys and making his senior debut there in 2012. His path afterwards ran through loan spells and moves across Switzerland, Hungary and Austria before it turned decisive at SC Austria Lustenau: across two seasons he scored 45 goals for the club, including 27 in the 2021–22 Austrian 2. Liga campaign alone, a tally that made him the division's top scorer and helped Lustenau win the championship.
He moved to FK Austria Wien in 2022, where he scored a hat-trick against Rapid Wien in May 2023. A few months later he moved to Germany, joining Hertha BSC for a fee of around €500,000. He scored a hat-trick against Eintracht Braunschweig in September 2023 and finished the 2023–24 2. Bundesliga season with 22 goals, sharing the Torschützenkönig title with Robert Glatzel and Christos Tzolis.
The goals took him to TSG 1899 Hoffenheim in August 2024 for a €5 million fee, before a loan to Borussia Mönchengladbach for the 2025–26 season.
Internationally, Tabaković switched allegiance from Swiss youth football to Bosnia and Herzegovina, making his senior debut for the national side in 2023. He was later named in Bosnia and Herzegovina's squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
