Henrique de Souza Trevisan

Some players go through a national team's shirt without ever making the senior side; Henrique Trevisan came close from the other direction, called up to train with the Brazil squad in October 2016 as a sparring partner, and later earning two caps for the under-20s. The senior cap never followed, but the path he took instead — through Portugal and back to Japan — shaped the defender he became.

Trevisan started out at Figueirense, making his Campeonato Brasileiro Série A debut in December 2016 and winning the Campeonato Catarinense in 2018 before Portuguese side GD Estoril Praia signed him that July. Estoril sent him out on loan three times: to Ponte Preta, where he made 35 appearances and scored once, to Famalicão for four league games, and in February 2021 to Oita Trinita in Japan's J1 League.

In the 2021 Emperor's Cup semi-final against Kawasaki Frontale, he headed in a dramatic equaliser in the 120th minute, sending his side through to the final. He finished that loan spell with 28 league appearances and two goals.

The move convinced FC Tokyo to sign him permanently on a free transfer in January 2022. Over three seasons there he made 55 league appearances and scored three goals, and in 2024 the Centre for International Sports Studies ranked him ninth in the world for aerial duels, with a 69% success rate. In January 2026 he joined Kyoto Sanga.
