About the player
Jordan Smith joined Nottingham Forest's academy at the age of seven and stayed with the club for 22 years, yet across that entire spell he made only 47 league appearances for the first team, with loan spells at Ilkeston, Nuneaton Town, Barnsley, Mansfield Town and Huddersfield Town filling in the gaps. Even so, he was part of the Forest squad that won the 2022 EFL Championship Play-Off Final and went up to the Premier League, though he did not play in that campaign himself.
Forest released Smith in June 2023, and he signed for Stockport County on a free transfer the following month, making five appearances that came mostly in cup competitions. That brief spell gave way to a fresh start in Scotland: in July 2024 he joined Hibernian on a two-year free transfer, and he made his league debut for the club in November 2024. In March 2025 he signed a contract extension that runs until May 2028.
Smith plays as a left-footed goalkeeper and wears the number 13 shirt at Easter Road. He has not been capped by England at senior or youth level.
