Juan Aponza

In 2026 he went to the Maurice Revello Tournament in Toulon with the under-19 side, and on 28 May he found the net in a friendly against Costa Rica under-19s. In the same year he played a single friendly for the under-20s and scored there as well.

He comes from Guachené , a town in the department of Cauca. He came through the academy, and by 2023 he was already part of the club's system. In 2024 he was playing for the under-17 team.

That was also the year his name first appeared on a national squad list: he was included among Colombia's under-17s for the CONMEBOL Sub-17 tournament. Right-footed, he stands 181cm, which the club's own website lists.

The senior part of the story has yet to begin. He has not been called up by the full Colombia national team, and he has no trophies or individual awards to his name — the record so far is limited to youth level with América and supplemented by the youth international call-ups.

What is on paper, then, is a player still measured in youth categories: two years of squad lists, one tournament abroad, and two goals scored in Colombia shirts during 2026.
