Lasse Ikonen

Lasse Ikonen was born in Dallas, Texas, to Finnish parents, and holds dual citizenship of Finland and the United States, though he represents Finland at international level. His route into professional football ran through Oulu, where he came through the youth ranks at OLS Oulu before signing his first professional contract with AC Oulu in October 2019, while still turning out for OLS Oulu's senior side in the Kakkonen. He made his Veikkausliiga debut with AC Oulu in 2021, and a loan spell at IF Gnistan in the Ykkösliiga in 2022 brought him 21 league appearances and a goal. Back at AC Oulu for 2023, his appearances were limited, though the club reached the final of the Finnish League Cup that year, and OLS Oulu won the Kakkonen Group C title. Ikonen moved to Turun Palloseura as a free agent in January 2024, and it was there that his career gathered pace. He was a key figure as TPS won promotion to the Veikkausliiga in 2025, contributing a free-kick against Tampere United in the Finnish Cup and a long-range strike against PK-35 in the Ykkösliiga. The club rewarded that promotion-winning form with a contract extension in November 2025, tying him to TPS until December 2026. At international level, Ikonen has represented Finland through the age groups, from the U16s and U17s up to the U19s, where he has earned five caps.
