Lisandro Ezequiel López Dessypris

In March 2026, at 36, he scored in Argentina's Primera División, a rare feat for a top-flight defender past 40 that put him among a small group of footballers still finding the net at that stage of a career.

López came through the Chacarita Juniors academy and made his first-team debut there in 2009. The move that shaped his early career came a year later, when he joined Arsenal de Sarandí. Over 119 appearances he became a fixture of the side and scored 17 goals, form that earned him Argentine Footballer of the Year in 2012.

That recognition opened the door to Europe. Benfica signed him in 2013. Boca made that arrangement permanent later the same year, and López spent two seasons in the first team before moving on.

The following years took him across three continents: Tijuana in Mexico, where he was named to the Liga MX All-Star XI in 2022, Al-Khaleej in Saudi Arabia, Burgos in Spain, and Olimpia in Paraguay. He signed for Belgrano as a free agent in July 2025.

At international level, López won four caps for Argentina in 2011 and 2012.
