About the player
Luca Hassler joined the club's academy in 2018 after stints in the youth systems of ASKÖ Gmünd, SV Spittal/Drau and Wolfsberger AC, and it was at Kapfenberg that his senior career actually began — not with the first team, but with the reserves. In the 2020–21 season he made seven appearances for ASC Rapid Kapfenberg, the club's side in the sixth-tier Unterliga, and scored three goals.
He also featured for Kapfenberg's second team, adding a further 24 appearances and 12 goals in the lower leagues along the way.
On 1 July 2026, Hassler left the club that had shaped almost his entire career, signing for Wolfsberger AC in the Bundesliga on a free transfer. The deal runs until 30 June 2028 and returns him to a club he already knew from his academy days between 2017 and 2018. He arrives in the top division without any senior or youth international caps to his name.
