Manuel Antonio Gamboa

Manuel Gamboa arrived in Ecuador. Sent on for his Mushuc Runa debut against Aucas in February 2026, he equalised in the 59th minute.

Panama shaped most of what came before that. Gamboa came through the academy at Chepo FC, then moved on to Universitario before joining Plaza Amador in 2020. It was there that he scored in the final as Plaza Amador won the title, the club's seventh championship. He stayed with the club, on and off, for three years, either side of a loan spell in Guatemala.

That loan, at Comunicaciones FC in 2022, brought a title of its own — the Clausura — and a night in the CONCACAF Champions League, where Gamboa scored against New York City FC.

From there his career moved quickly: Deportivo Xinabajul and Antigua GFC in Guatemala, then a return to Panama with UMECIT FC, before he signed for Mushuc Runa as a free agent at the start of 2026.

He has also worn Panama's colours at under-20 level, including at the 2019 World Cup in Poland, and made his senior debut in a 2022 friendly against Uruguay, playing the full match as Panama lost 5-0.
