Martin Linnes

Norway were 8–0 up against San Marino in a 2018 World Cup qualifier on 5 October 2017 when Martin Linnes got his name on the scoresheet — his only goal in 29 caps for his country between 2013 and 2021.

He came into the senior game at Kongsvinger IL, arriving from the youth side at Sander IL and making his debut in the Norwegian top division in 2010.

Galatasaray paid €2 million for him in January 2016. He stayed five years in Istanbul and was a regular starter, collecting Süper Lig titles in 2017–18 and 2018–19, Turkish Cups in 2015–16 and 2018–19, and Turkish Super Cups in 2016 and 2019.

When his contract expired he went back to where he had won his first honours, signing for Molde as a free agent on 17 August 2021 on terms running to 31 December 2026. A further Eliteserien title followed in 2022, along with Norwegian Cups in 2021–22 and 2023.

With the national team he was involved in the Euro 2016 qualifying campaign, both the 2018 and 2022 World Cup qualifiers and two editions of the Nations League. He last played for Norway on 30 March 2021, against Montenegro. Before any of that, he took a bronze medal with the under-21 side at the 2013 European Under-21 Championship.
