About the player
Momodou Sarr came through the youth ranks at his hometown club Vaasan Palloseura before making his senior debut for VPS in April 2018, splitting his early years between the first team and VPS II in the lower divisions. A move to Ilves followed in early 2021 on a two-year deal, and in July 2022 he joined IF Gnistan. In June 2023 he was named Ykkönen Player of the Month after scoring five goals and setting up two more in four matches, a run that helped drive Gnistan to a second-place finish in the league and promotion to the Veikkausliiga.
He returned to Finland the following year on loan at FC Inter Turku for the 2025 season, before signing a permanent deal in February 2026 with FC Lahti, agreeing terms until the end of that year.
At international level, Sarr has represented Finland at under-21 level, earning two caps in friendly matches in 2021, including an appearance against Sweden U21 in June that year. He plays as a striker or right winger and is right-footed.
