About the player
Marcinho was in Brazil's national team fold once, in September 2019. Called up by Tite as a late replacement for the injured Danilo ahead of friendlies against Senegal and Nigeria in Singapore, the midfielder took part in squad training but never made an appearance in an official match.
He came through at Avaí, where he stayed for two seasons and won the Catarinense 1 in 2019. What followed was a period of frequent transfers between smaller Brazilian clubs, including spells at Osasco Sporting and São Joséense, interrupted by loan moves to Londrina and Operário-PR. Little was said publicly about his time at any of these clubs beyond the moves themselves, with almost all of his transfers completed as free agreements rather than for a fee.
In December 2023, Marcinho joined Brasil de Pelotas, where he spent the 2024 season before leaving as a free agent. He then took his career to Europe for the first time, signing for Široki Brijeg in February 2025.
