Marco Silvestri

Marco Silvestri came through Modena's youth ranks and made his senior debut for the club in the Coppa Italia in August 2009, though he never played a league match there. A move to ChievoVerona followed in 2010, with the club taking his registration in two stages, first buying half his rights and later the rest outright. The formative years came out on loan, at Reggiana, then Padova, then a short spell at Cagliari.

The move that raised his profile came in 2014, when Leeds United signed him for a fee of around €1 million . He made 98 appearances across all competitions and reached the quarter-finals of the EFL Cup in 2016–17. He was nominated for the club's Fans' Player of the Year and was named in the Football League Team of the Week in August 2014.

Silvestri returned to Italy in 2017, joining Hellas Verona on a free transfer. He was part of the squad that won promotion to Serie A through the Serie B playoffs in 2018–19. He stayed at Verona until 2021, when he moved on a free transfer to Udinese, where he stayed until 2024.

At international level, Silvestri represented Italy at Under-20 and Under-21 level. In October 2020, Roberto Mancini called him into the senior squad, though he did not add a cap to his youth appearances.
