About the player
Koscelník made his name at MFK Zemplín Michalovce, where between 2014 and 2018 he became a regular in the side that won the Slovak title in the 2016–17 season. He was a productive defender in that period too, scoring eight goals and providing five assists in the league during the 2017–18 campaign, output that helped earn him a move abroad.
He joined FC Slovan Liberec in the Czech Republic in 2018 and stayed for four seasons before Rapid Wien signed him in 2022 for a fee of around €300,000. A single season in Vienna followed, after which he moved to the Netherlands on a free transfer to join NAC Breda. There he played his part in the club's promotion to the Eredivisie in 2024.
Koscelník was capped by Slovakia 14 times between 2020 and 2022 and was named in the squad for UEFA Euro 2020. His one international goal came against Cyprus in a 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier.
In January 2025 he signed for 1. FC Slovácko on a free transfer, agreeing a two-year contract, and went on to feature for the club through the 2025–2026 season. He later returned to where his career began, signing a fresh two-year deal with an annual option at MFK Zemplín Michalovce.
