About the player
Matvey Shavel began his football education at the Sports School of Olympic Reserve in Tver under coach Mikhail Borisovich Chereshev. In December 2017, at the age of 17, he attended a trial at Spartak Moscow, and in 2019 he signed his first professional deal with Rodina Moscow instead, where he spent time with both the main squad and the reserve side before moving on to Rodina-2.
In 2024 Shavel joined his hometown club, Tver, on a free transfer. He finished as the club's top scorer with 8 goals in 18 matches in the Second League Division B and was named the club's best goal scorer for October. That form led to a transfer in July 2026, when KAMAZ signed him for a fee of €6,000 on a contract running until 30 June 2027.
Shavel plays as a forward, though he has also featured as a midfielder, and wears the number 96 shirt. Across his career in the Second League, he has scored between 19 and 22 goals with 10 to 13 assists. He has not been called up to the Russian national team.
