About the player
Max Bruns came through the FC Twente academy, joining the FC Twente/Heracles Academie youth setup in 2015 after his earlier years at MVV '29. He made his first-team debut on 6 February 2021 in an Eredivisie fixture against PSV that ended in a 3–0 defeat, and signed his first professional contract. There has been no loan spell and no move elsewhere since; in 2024 he extended his deal with Twente to 2027, with the option of a further two years.
He has made 62 league appearances and scored a single goal, plus 16 outings and three goals in European competition. Twente finished fourth in the Eredivisie in 2025–26 and reached the KNVB Cup quarter-finals, without Bruns collecting any individual or team honours along the way.
At youth international level, Bruns has represented the Netherlands Under-21s, making his debut against Norway in March 2024. That goal was his only one in six caps for the age group.
His disciplinary record has not been spotless.
