Miguel Figueiredo

Miguel Figueiredo made his first-team debut for Benfica in the starting line-up on 23 July 2026, in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League against Switzerland's St. Gallen. It followed an earlier taste of the senior squad: in March 2026, José Mourinho called him up for a league match against Arouca, though he stayed on the bench.

Before that, Figueiredo had already won a title with Portugal's under-17 side, champions of the World Cup held in Qatar in 2025. He played three matches at the tournament and scored once, and has since been called up to the under-18 squad and to the under-19 side for European Championship qualifiers.

His route to Benfica began at CB Estarreja, a club in the district of Aveiro, where he played between 2016 and 2020 before moving into Benfica's academy. He rose through the under-15, under-17 and under-19 ranks and signed his first professional contract with the club in November 2024.

Most of his football since has come with Benfica B: 23 appearances and a goal in Liga Portugal 2 during the 2025/26 season, plus two goals in seven UEFA Youth League matches for the under-19 team. His market value is estimated at around €1.3 million.
