Nurbakyt Sagat

Nurbakyt Sagat came through Atyrau's own academy. In 2024 he was the regular goalkeeper for Atyrau-2 in the Freedom QJ League, a youth competition where he made 20 appearances, conceded 43 goals and kept four clean sheets. That season brought him individual recognition rather than team silverware — a nomination for the league's Best Goalkeeper award, plus a Freedom Mobile Save of the Month prize for July while playing under the Atyrau 2007 banner.

The step up came in 2025, when Sagat was promoted into Atyrau's first-team squad. He has since established himself in the Kazakhstan Second Division rather than the top flight, making 12 appearances in 2025, eleven of them as a starter, before adding two more starts in 2026. That run of senior football, still confined to the lower division, marks the extent of his professional record so far — there is nothing yet on his sheet from the Premier League, the Kazakhstan Cup, or the national team.

What stands out is the consistency of the route: academy to reserves to seconds, then straight into regular Second Division starts rather than a bit-part introduction. He remains a right-footed goalkeeper built around that steady progression through Atyrau's own ranks, with no transfer history to speak of since every step has come from within the club.
