About the player
Omar Imeri came through the academy system in North Macedonia. He made his Süper Lig debut for Antalyaspor that October, in a 5-1 win over İstanbul Başakşehir, though he did not get on the scoresheet.
His time in Antalya included a loan spell back home at Shkupi in 2022, and he later moved to Bodrum FK. The 2024/25 Süper Lig season did not start well for him there, and in September 2024 he left for Batman Petrolspor in the Turkish second tier. Imeri scored eight goals in 31 appearances across the campaign, including a hat-trick against Karaköprü Belediyespor, a match Batman Petrolspor won 5-0, with his first goal arriving in the 58th minute. He also found the net against Sarıyer, one of the division's leading sides that season.
Born in Skopje, Imeri has Albanian roots and represented both North Macedonia's and Albania's under-21 sides earlier in his career. He ultimately opted for Turkey at senior international level, a route open to him through his Turkish citizenship.
