About the player
Philip Fahrner joined 1. FC Saarbrücken in May 2024 on a free transfer, arriving from the SC Freiburg academy where he had spent seven years. He made his professional debut for Freiburg in the 3. Liga in July 2021.
Fahrner's path started far from professional football's usual pipelines, at SpVgg Freudenstadt, before a move to SSV Reutlingen 05. Freiburg picked him up in 2017, and he progressed through the club's youth ranks as a right-back.
