About the player
Pablo Fernández Blanco made his senior debut with Candás CF in December 2012, before moving on to Sporting de Gijón B in 2014. He worked his way up through the Sporting ranks and was promoted to the first team in 2017, making his La Liga debut against Málaga CF on 5 April that year. The following season he also featured in Segunda División for Sporting, debuting against AD Alcorcón in August 2018.
In July 2019 he signed for UE Cornellà, where he spent two seasons and scored close to ten goals in just over fifty official matches. He moved to Gimnàstic de Tarragona in June 2021, on a two-year deal that the club extended in December 2022.
Fernández later moved to União de Leiria on loan from Gimnàstic, remaining under contract with the Spanish club while turning out for the Portuguese side across the 2023/24 and 2024/25 seasons. Earlier in his career, he was also called up to Spain's under-17 side for a friendly against Asturias U19 in April 2014, played as a benefit match for the Fundación Sanfilippo B.
