About the player
Remko Pasveer was 38 by the time he pulled on a Netherlands shirt for the first time. His two caps came in September 2022, in Nations League fixtures against Poland and Belgium, both of which he kept clean. He went on to serve as backup goalkeeper at the 2022 World Cup.
Pasveer came through the youth ranks at SC Enschede and FC Twente before making his professional debut with Twente in 2003. He moved to Heracles Almelo in 2006, and it was a loan spell away from that club, at Go Ahead Eagles between 2008 and 2010, that first made his name: 74 league appearances turned him into a fan favourite in Deventer.
A free transfer took him to PSV Eindhoven in 2014, where he won back-to-back Eredivisie titles in 2014–15 and 2015–16, adding the Johan Cruyff Shield in both 2016 and 2017. He then joined Vitesse for a fee of around €450,000, and was named the club's Player of the Year for the 2019–20 season.
Pasveer returned to Ajax on a free transfer in 2021 and won the Eredivisie with the club in 2021–22, as well as the KNVB Cup that same season, though his role in the cup run was a limited one, with Stekelenburg selected for the final. In 2026 he left Ajax for a short spell back at Heracles Almelo before moving on to FC Twente.
