Sondre Holmlund Ørjasæter

Football did not come first for Ørjasæter. Growing up in Oslo, he stepped away from the game as a boy to focus on skateboarding, and it was only after his family moved to Stryn in 2019 that he returned to it, joining the youth setup at Stryn TIL and rediscovering his interest in the sport. In 2021 he scored 10 goals in 10 appearances for Stryn's senior side in the 4. Division as the team won its group.

That form took him to Sogndal Fotball in January 2022, where he spent two seasons in the OBOS-ligaen, scoring eight goals in 57 appearances. A switch to Sarpsborg 08 FF followed in January 2024, and over the 2024–2025 period he added seven goals in 42 games.

In August 2025 Ørjasæter moved to FC Twente for a fee reported at around €5 million, with add-ons that could push the total to €7.5 million. He turned down interest from Celtic in favour of Twente, saying the technical environment of the Eredivisie suited his development, and signed a contract running to June 2030.

At international level, Ørjasæter has represented Norway at youth level, with two caps for the U20s in 2023 and seven for the U21s across 2023 and 2024. He came through the Lyn academy alongside Oscar Bobb, and his younger brother Ola Holmlund Ørjasæter, born in 2008, is also a footballer.
