Samuel Johansen Chukwudi

Samuel Johansen Chukwudi stands out for his size: at 1.95 m. Born in Tórshavn, he was developed at HB Tórshavn, progressing through the club's second team between 2019 and 2021 before establishing himself in the senior side, where he went on to make 61 league appearances. With HB he won the Faroe Islands Premier League in 2020, the Faroe Islands Cup in 2020, 2023 and 2024, and the Faroe Islands Super Cup in 2021 and 2024.

In 2022 he had a season away from home on loan at Union SG's under-23 side in Belgium, making nine appearances before returning to HB Tórshavn. He left the club for good in January 2025, signing for SJK Seinäjoki in Finland on a two-year deal with a one-year option, taking the number 28 shirt.

Chukwudi has also represented the Faroe Islands at senior level, having come through the under-15, under-17 and under-21 youth sides. He made his senior international debut in 2022 and had earned six caps by September 2025, without having scored for the national team.

In June 2026 he moved on again, joining Austrian Bundesliga club SV Ried on a contract running until June 2029, keeping the number 28 on his back. Reports at the time suggested a fee was payable to SJK, whose contract with the defender had been due to run until the end of 2026.
