About the player
Liu Shibo came through the youth ranks at Guangzhou FC and was promoted to the senior squad in 2017. His senior debut came in the Chinese FA Cup in May 2019, with a Chinese Super League appearance not following until 2021. In between, a loan spell at Nei Mongol Zhongyou gave him regular league football, with his debut for the Inner Mongolian side coming on 22 July 2017.
At Guangzhou he collected silverware, winning the Chinese Super League title in 2019 and the Chinese FA Super Cup in 2018. He was nonetheless part of the squad that reached the final of the 2024 Chinese FA Cup, a match Shandong finished as runners-up.
A free transfer took him to Shandong Taishan in April 2023, where he settled in as third-choice goalkeeper.
