Silviu Nicolae Balaure

On 10 December 2022, Balaure struck twice in a 4-0 win over Farul Constanța and became the first player to score at the newly opened Arena Sibiu.

He had come to the club on a free transfer in 2021 and stayed five years, making 157 league appearances and scoring 23 goals. Seven of those came in 39 matches across the 2023-24 season. In the 2025 Cupa României he set up a goal in the semi-final against Rapid București; Hermannstadt reached the final and lost it.

The route there ran through the lower divisions. After a youth spell at CSȘ Drobeta Turnu Severin and then Politehnica Timișoara, he made his senior debut for ACS Poli Timișoara in 2013 and managed two league appearances. A loan to NMM Becicherecu Mic brought three goals in ten Liga III matches, and a free move to FCM Baia Mare brought eight in 31 in Liga II — enough for Astra Giurgiu to pay a reported €10,000 for him in 2016.

Five years at Astra produced 95 Liga I appearances, 11 goals and five Europa League outings. He won the Supercupa României in 2016 and lost three Cupa României finals. In the 2019 final he came on in the 72nd minute for the injured Denis Alibec; Astra went down 2-1 in extra time.

Romania capped him at youth level — three times at U17, six times and one goal at U19, twice at U21 — but never at senior level. He joined Argeș Pitești on a free transfer in July 2026 and has four league appearances so far.
