Thomas van den Belt

Thomas van den Belt made his name in the 2022–23 season, when he scored sixteen goals from midfield for PEC Zwolle in the Eerste Divisie — an unusual return for a central player that saw him named the division's Player of the Season and included in its Team of the Year. He had joined PEC Zwolle's academy in 2012, coming through from DOS Kampen, and made his first-team debut for the club in September 2020. Across three seasons in Zwolle's first team he made 74 league appearances and scored 19 goals.

That form earned him a move to Feyenoord in the summer of 2023, for a fee of around €850,000 on a four-year deal. Appearances for the first team were limited to eleven, but he was part of the squad that won the KNVB Cup in 2023–24. Feyenoord sent him out on loan to CD Castellón in the Spanish Segunda División for the 2024–25 season, where he featured 39 times and scored six goals; Castellón held an option to sign him permanently but chose not to take it up.

In June 2025, van den Belt joined FC Twente for €1.5 million, signing a contract that runs until 2029. He plays as a central or defensive midfielder and wears the number 20 shirt. Earlier in his career, he was capped twice by the Netherlands under-18 side, in 2018.
