About the player
Tim Spycher grew up between Meisterschwanden and Wohlen before FC Basel took him into its academy at eleven, and he stayed inside that structure for a decade. Instead, Basel sent him out on loan year after year to gather the minutes the first team could not offer: Yverdon-Sport, FC Baden, then Stade Nyonnais. It was at Yverdon, in the 2022–23 season, that he picked up his first senior medal, helping the club to the Challenge League title.
Spycher left Basel's youth ranks for good in January 2026 and signed with FC Thun until the summer of 2028. His Swiss Super League debut followed within weeks, and on 1 February 2026 he was sent on as a 67th-minute substitute for the injured Niklas Steffen against Basel. Thun won 2–1. Before the season was out, Spycher had a Super League winner's medal of his own, as Thun claimed the club's first-ever top-flight title.
Alongside his club football, Spycher has moved steadily through the Swiss youth national teams, from the U15s up to the U20s, and in November 2025 he earned his first caps for the U21 side during European Championship qualifying.
