About the player
Václav Drchal announced himself early: on his professional debut for AC Sparta Prague, against 1. FC Slovácko in February 2018, he scored, becoming the third-youngest player to net on his first appearance in the Czech First League. He was 18 at the time, having come through Sparta's youth academy and signed his first professional contract only weeks earlier.
At Mladá Boleslav in 2020/21 he scored five goals in the final five matches, a run that helped the club avoid relegation. A loan at Dynamo Dresden followed, and then a move to Bohemians 1905, where he scored seven goals in 30 matches and helped the side finish fourth and qualify for European competition. After a permanent move to Jablonec, Drchal returned to Bohemians in 2024 on a multi-year contract.
His time at Sparta also brought silverware, including the Czech First League title in 2022/23, though his Czech Cup medal from 2019/20 came as an unused substitute. At youth level, Drchal represented the Czech Republic from U17 through U21, including a spot in the squad for the 2021 UEFA European Under-21 Championship. He has yet to add a senior cap to that record.
