Vasco Oliveira

Vasco Oliveira came through Benfica's academy before at sixteen he left Portugal for Genoa. He never made an appearance in Serie A, and a season on loan at Olbia produced little more than experience of Italian football away from the top flight.

He returned to Portugal in 2022 and joined Farense before moving into his longest spell in the game, at União de Leiria. He became a regular fixture at the back, playing 21 times on an initial loan spell and following it with a 25-appearance season in the Portuguese second tier, in which he also contributed two goals and five assists. A loan to Torreense in 2024/25 brought a lighter workload, with eight league appearances.

He moved abroad again in 2025, joining Dobrudzha, and has kept the number 72 he now wears with the club. His disciplinary record has been notable at times: in a short spell with Spartak Varna he was sent off once in four matches, alongside a booking, in barely over 180 minutes on the pitch.

Across his career in major competitions, Oliveira has made 124 appearances, scoring nine goals and providing 17 assists — figures that mark him out as a defender willing to contribute at the other end of the pitch, even as his path has taken him from Genoa's academy system through spells in Portugal's lower divisions and now into Bulgarian football.
