Welinton Macedo dos Santos

Welinton Torrão spent most of his career changing address every year or two. He came through the academy system, passing through the Paraná Soccer Technical Center and the youth setups of Atlético Mineiro, Athletico Paranaense and Cruzeiro before Cruzeiro promoted him to the senior squad in 2019. His time there yielded a single Série A appearance.

A move to Novorizontino in 2021 brought seven Série C appearances and a goal, then spells at Ferroviária and, briefly, Criciúma kept him moving before he settled at Athletic Club in November 2022. He scored three times in eleven Campeonato Mineiro matches in 2023, then became one of the side's more consistent attacking presences: 34 appearances and four goals in 2024, followed by 44 appearances and six goals in 2025, a season in which Athletic Club stayed up.

That form led to his first move outside Brazil. On 9 December 2025, Santa Clara announced his signing on a free transfer, with Torrão putting his name to a contract running to 2028. He took the number 11 shirt in the Azores. His first season in Portugal brought 18 Primeira Liga appearances, a goal and two assists, and he has already featured twice in the early rounds of the following campaign as he continues adjusting to European football.
