About the player
Žan Celar won a Swiss Cup with Lugano in 2021–22, scoring in the 4–1 final win over St. Gallen. He joined Lugano in 2021: 3 goals in 13 games at Cittadella, then 40 appearances for Cremonese. At Lugano he finished with 51 goals in 116 appearances, and his 2023–24 season stood out in particular — he finished as joint top scorer in the Swiss Super League and was named to the SAFP Golden 11.
He wore the number 9 shirt and made 16 appearances during the loan spell.
On the international stage, he made his senior debut for Slovenia in November 2021 against Cyprus and was later included in the squad for UEFA Euro 2024, where the team reached the round of 16.
