About the player
Zakhar Gitzeliev came through the youth system at BATE Borisov before senior football took him elsewhere: in 2023 he moved out on loan to Baranovichi in the Belarusian First League, the country's second tier. He played 30 matches that season, scored five goals and set up another four as the club finished sixth. He made his senior debut for BATE in 2024.
His path since has taken him through Volna Pinsk, for whom he played in 2025, before he returned to Baranovichi. That return, in July 2026, came on a permanent basis, after the club had won promotion to the Belarusian Premier League. By the end of August he had made three Premier League appearances for Baranovichi, though he is yet to open his account in either goals or assists at that level.
Born in Bereza, in the Brest Region, Gitzeliev operates as a midfielder, though he has also featured further forward. The bulk of his output to date remains the 2023 loan spell at Baranovichi, where his goal contributions helped the side to a top-half finish in the second tier.
