Bought his way into Major League Baseball in 1961, when the American League expanded and handed Los Angeles a second team to sit alongside the Dodgers, the club was named the Angels, a nod to the city's own Spanish-derived name, and it got a ground of its own in Anaheim in 1966. The franchise settled on its current identity while keeping Anaheim as its home.
That home is Angel Stadium, still holding just over 45,000 for baseball. Red, navy and silver have stayed the team's colours throughout the renaming, and the halo above the logo gave the players a nickname, the Halos.
