Byasen 2 Women

Promotion, not silverware, is what the second team has to show for itself: winners of Avdeling 4 in the 2. divisjon in 2023/24. It is a modest climb, but for a reserve side it counts as the record, since no cups or league titles are recorded against Byåsen 2 Women itself.

Everything above that line belongs to the parent section. Byåsen Håndball Elite has taken the Norwegian championship five times, the last in 1997–98, and the Norwegian Cup four times, most recently in 2007. Those results, and the players who delivered them, sit a level above the reserves, who exist to feed that side rather than to chase trophies of their own.

Byåsen IL itself dates to 30 October 1921, and the reserve team carries the same red and white. Trondheim's handball rivalry runs through Kolstad Håndball.

Between the two, Trondheim keeps its handball close to home, one arena, one rivalry, two levels of the same shirt.
