Ciechanów

Ciechanów's handball side traces back to 1957, when it took its name from the knight of Sienkiewicz's Krzyżacy.

The rebuild has been steady rather than dramatic. Ciechanów worked its way up to the I Liga and on into the Liga Centralna, and in the 2022/2023 season won the I Liga outright. In 2025 came a different kind of prize, the Polish Cup at voivodeship level, won by beating AZS UW Warszawa 33:28.

Matches against MKS Mazur Sierpc carry their own weight locally, played out as the Mazovia Derby. The team's own hall, the Hala Sportowa MOSiR, holds barely 519 people — enough for a club whose ambitions have mostly been rebuilt from the bottom up rather than measured in seating capacity.

The name still most associated with the club's better years is Przemysław Krajewski, who was the I Liga's top scorer in 2008/2009 and went on to a bronze medal with the Poland national team in 2015 before playing at the Rio Olympics the following year.
