Clydebank

In 2002 the club that had carried Clydebank's name since 1965 was bought out and physically moved to Airdrie, re-emerging there as Airdrie United. The ground stayed put; the tenant did not. Supporters answered not with a protest but with a replacement: inside a year they had built a new club under the old name and colours, starting again from the bottom of the pyramid in 2003.

That first season back it won the Central League Division Two, in 2004, and by 2009 had reached the final of the Scottish Junior Cup. Progress since has been slower but steady — the West of Scotland Football League Premier Division title arrived in 2025, followed by a runner-up finish in the Lowland League in 2026, enough to keep The Bankies climbing rather than settling.

The older club left the heavier mark: a Scottish Football League Division Two title in 1976 and a Scottish Cup semi-final in 1990 sit among its honours. Davie Cooper came through its ranks before Rangers and Scotland; the Hall of Fame also keeps Jim Fallon and Jim Gallagher, its long-standing record-holders.

Home games are played at Holm Park, a ground with room for 1,200, the team in red and white. It is shared with Yoker Athletic, and that tenancy makes Yoker the closest rivalry left — a derby fought out on the same pitch rather than across a city, with Dumbarton standing as the older, more distant name on the list.
