Cumbernauld Colts

Cumbernauld Colts go into the new season in the Lowland League on the back of a second Lowland League Cup title, won in 2025-26 to go with the one they lifted in 2017-18.

The club began in 1969 as a youth side for Cumbernauld, then a new town in North Lanarkshire. That first version of the club broke up during the 1998-99 season, and it took until 1999 for it to return, then until 2015 for the Scottish Football Association to admit the Colts as full members, with entry into the Lowland League following soon after.

They play in yellow shirts with blue trim, blue shorts and yellow socks at home, switching to black with blue stripes on the road, and are known simply as the Colts.

The academy the club ran through the 1970s and into the early 1980s sent three players into the professional game and on to full Scotland caps: Derek Whyte, Jackie McNamara and Dougie Bell.

Matches are played at Broadwood Stadium, which Cumbernauld Colts have rented rather than owned since 2012, and which holds 8,086.
